The European Commission co-organises the 20th Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) conference with Ireland’s Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment and the Irish EU Presidency. It will be hosted in the Cork City Hall.
The 2026 conference is dedicated to the competitiveness and sovereignty of the European strategic energy technologies. Bringing together key EU and national policymakers, investors, industry and research stakeholders, the discussion will highlight lessons learned, assess current challenges, and explore how the SET Plan can continue to drive innovation, competitiveness, and climate neutrality in the years ahead.
The Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) is the EU’s overarching platform to align and accelerate innovation and market uptake efforts across 15 strategic energy technologies. This year, the legacy of 20 SET Plan conferences will be celebrated, reflecting 2 decades of achievements in advancing Europe’s clean energy transition while setting out priorities for the future.
